Finally, I'm Showing Part II of my US Haul!

Hey everyone! Finally, I'm back into circulation. I still feel a bit jetlagged, but I'm doing better :) So, here is part of my US hauls :)

My stuff from Sonia Kashuk: a blush brush, a stippling brush and the Hidden Agenda Concealer set. This has good reviews, so I'd like to try it out. The brushes I bought are affordable at around $10-12 dollars (can't remember the exact amount).

More hair stuff: Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray which is less than $4 but has good reviews, and Big Sexy Hair What a Tease Backcomb in a Bottle. This was meant as a substitute for teasing hair. I hope it works because it's quite pricey. I'm a hairstylist too but I prefer not to tease my hair during performances, etc.

A heated eyelash curler from ULTA. I got this during the sale of ULTA when all ULTA brand stuff were BOGO. It was $10 so I gave the other one to my sister. In the middle and the far right are what I picked up from a hobby store. I bought an eyeliner brush (it's actually an art brush) and the Pink Soap brush cleaner. It's said to be better than MAC and costs less, so I want to give it a try.

A foundation palette from RCMA. I was supposed to get Graftobian, but it was OOS. I was quite disappointed because the fairer colors are on the cool side, while the darker colors are warm.

Nail stuff: An OPI nail polish, and the much-coveted Seche Vite Top Coat and Restore.

And lastly, the PedEgg, so I can do my own foot exfoliation. Although this is available here (at a more expensive price), I haven't seen the one with the handle, which they say is easier to use.

I'm excited to try out my stuff!

Please Bear with Me

Hey everyone! I'm sorry I haven't been blogging. I arrived two nights ago, and I started working the day after I came home, so now, I spend my days working sleepily, and crashing into bed as soon as I get home. I expect to be back in circulation this week. Until then, thanks for being patient!

Product Review: Neutrogena Body Oil

Hello everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates. Like I've said, I'm still in the US and since I don't have my stuff, I don't have much resources here. Anyway, during our stay here, my sister bought a bottle of Neutrogena Body Oil to keep her skin moisturized. I'm not in an uber cold part of the US, but it can get cold at night so it's still important to keep skin hydrated.

Wanna know if this works? Read on.

Product Description:

Light sesame formula. A sheer moisturizing experience. The Sensual Moisturizer: Experience Neutrogena Body Oil. Its light sesame formula glides in easily to moisturize dry skin. It's so sheer it vanishes into shower-damp skin leaving it soft and silky, with a radiant, healthy glow. No moisturizer can touch this experience.

I have used Neutrogena Body Lotion with sesame oil in the past and loved it, but I was skeptical about body oils, because we live in a tropical country. But using this, I was surprised to find that it does exactly what it says: it moisturizes while being light at the same time. It's easily absorbed by the skin, and doesn't leave you with that icky feeling. t's great for people who have dry skin or who work or stay in an air conditioned environment.

Here are the pros and cons:

PROS
  • has a light, pleasant smell
  • goes on light and easily absorbed by the body
  • a little goes a long way
  • does a good job of moisturizing
  • inexpensive
  • locally available

CONS
  • despite this being a light oil, this is still an oil, so expect that it feels a tad bit hot when applied (as opposed to the cooling effect of a lotion)
  • if you plan to use it before staying in a warm environment, it's best to wait a bit after application to make sure that it's totally absorbed by the body so you won't feel icky

Conclusion? If lotions are not enough to keep your skin moisturized, why not try an oil? It's a good product to have around. It's also handy when you plan to travel to colder countries.
Where to buy: At leading department stores and drug stores for P400+. I can't remember the exact price.

As the Big Day Draws Nearer...

Only a few days until the big day! And no, I don't mean my wedding day. I'm talking about a day that will affect the lives of all Filipinos. Yes, you all know what I'm talking about. I won't be able to vote since I am in the US, but for those who are able to. Please, please, please, don't throw away your vote. Every little vote helps. Politics are uber uber dirty. Please let's at least make it harder for some people to cheat. And please, whatever you do, don't vote for...... Well I'm not going to tell the whole world who NOT to vote for, but I'm hoping that most of you know who I'm talking about. Peace!

What I've Got So Far

Hello everyone! I'm sorry I haven't been blogging. Our internet has been extremely slow lately thanks to our bad router, but now that it's better I'm hoping that I'll be able to blog more. However, I'm still very much lacking in material to blog about to blog as often as I want, being abroad and all. Thanks for bearing with me.

I'd like to show you the beauty-related stuff I got so far. It's not much. I'm obviously taking my time in buying. It's hard because I'm on a budget and I'm not working while I'm here. This is strictly for vacation. Anyway, I bought other stuff too like shoes and clothes, but I won't bother you with the details of that. It's really nice here because there are sales left and right! If I were living here, I'd probably be buying shoes all the time!

Anyway, enough of that. Here's what I have so far:

These are things I got from NYC during the BOGO of CVS. I previously blogged about NYC pencils and they have good quality pencils so I bought four. I also grabbed a pair of l/g and nail polish that I split with my sister.

These are just random beauty products. The much raved about Maybelline Great Lash Mascara, Loreal Beauty tubes mascara on sale, the much-raved about Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque since it costs less than in the Philippines, a backup tube of my favorite DUO eyelash adhesive in dark, Garnier eye cream since I ran out, and some hair products: Dove Anti-frizz cream and Tresemme Curl Activator Spray which aren't available in the Philippines.

And lastly, my brushes from MAC. I got the 217 and 130. Originally, I wanted a 222 and a 224, too, but I couldn't find the 222 and then I decided to wait on the 224 since I have the 224SE anyway. I know it's no comparison, but I can't go crazy with makeup just yet.

So that's all I've got. Have a nice day!
