Gosh this is a big brush! I don't have a MAC buffer brush so I can't compare, but as you can see, just from the handle itself, it's a chubby brush. This brush is synthetic, so it's definitely soft and not scratchy. The great thing about this is because of its size, it's perfect for buffing mineral foundation if you're in a hurry because it covers a lot of area quickly.
Let me just give a quick rundown of pros and cons:
PROS
- available locally for P750 (around $15)
- soft and not scratchy
- fluffy and dense
CONS
- minimal shedding
- the handle is so fat that I can't find a brush roll/belt/case that it can fit in so it's a challenge to store
Rating: 4.5/5
I'd give it a 5 if it didn't shed a bit, as I noticed with Ellana brushes.

Do you use this to apply foundation?
You know what I think Ellana just bought these generic from a supplier because Nu Yu minerals has the exact same one... as well as the Ellana baby buki.
Nice review! And I found that it was a bit too heavy, personally.
yes i use this for mineral foundation. really nuyu has this? the last time i heard, nuyu's kabuki was made of animal hair. i guess they have new brushes already. yeah, mmu companies normally just buy brushes from a supplier. like my forever female flat top which is exactly the same as the dreamworld flat top :P
wow this brush is huge :) but i can see how soft it is :)
I've always been curious about this brush. Thanks for the review.
*Looks at brush collection and ties hands together to stop self from ordering*
oooh i dont have many big brushes so its nice to read some reviews!!
nikki, yes it is soft!
shasta, lol! haha. gale and sutil both have reviews of this brush in their blog too of you want to check it out.
yumeko, yup this is the biggest buffer brush i've seen in person!
the brush is huge! is it kinda heavy as well due to its size?
pammy, yes the brush is kinda heavy because the handle is already thick. but the weight doesn't bother me.
i have been wanting to try this.. however, when i saw this it was not that appealing to me as it was on the pictures.. perhaps due to the bristles.. but really nice review i will now reconsider in getting one.
donnarence, when i saw it in person at the ellana showroom i thought it was scratchy but it's actually just because of the accumulated makeup. after it's washed, it's soft already. hope that helped. if you're still unsure, check out other reviews before you buy. i'm satisfied with it though.
wow! i think i need to get this one.
thanks for the review
ooh thanks for the review :D
thanks for the review.. i've been meaning to get this. right now, i just have their baby buki brush and it's really soft!
I hate shedding! I'll be swirling and whatnot and I'll see some hairs on my face, icks!!
that is one huge brush. which is good! is it super heavy? i'm satisfied so far with the ellana brushes that i've tried :)
Oooh wow this brush looks amazinggggggggggggg!
Crystal, nice review! We have the same rating for this brush hehe although I gave it 4/5 because of the size of the handle..if only they made it shorter I will definitely give this brush a 5/5...mine didn't shed :)
debi and crissy, no prob.
purplesilke, yes, ellana brushes are so soft.
blair, the shedding isn't bad that you'll find hair in your face. it just sheds a hair or two rarely.
ida, no this brush isn't super heavy but it is considerable heavy.
sarah, haha am i enabling you?
gale, the length of the handle doesn't bother me it's just the width. of course, since the brush is so thick, you can't really blame them for making the handle thick. mine shed a hair once.
